Activity details

Begin the tour in Piazza Navona, one of Rome's most magnificent squares, and see the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone and the Four Rivers Fountain, all of which are part of the ancient Domitian stadium.

Move on to the next stop, and see the Pantheon, one of the most famous and well-preserved ancient buildings in the world. Learn about this building, originally built by Marcus Agrippa in 25 BC, which served as a temple to the many gods of Rome.

Stop at the Trevi Fountain, and learn about the history of one of the most renowned fountains in the world, immortalized in photographs by many who have visited Rome, and was the star of one of Fellini's most famous scenes, "La Dolce Vita."

See the Altar of the Fatherland at the next stop, along with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the middle, in the Vittoriano's symbolic heart, and learn about each.

Walk through the Roman Forum, located on low ground between the Palatine and Capitoline hills. In republican times, the Roman Forum was surrounded by shops and open-air markets and was the site of public meetings, law courts, and gladiatorial combats.

See some of the city's most majestic temples and monuments that were built under the empire, when it was largely used as a center for religious and secular shows and rituals.

End the tour with a stop in front of the Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, Rome's largest amphitheater, and learn about its history as a gift to the Roman people during the reign of the Flavian emperors.
