Entry to the Basilica is free for everyone. This product does not include a reservation, a timed entry or any form of priority, and it does not shorten the security queue: you go in exactly as you would without it. What it adds is what to look at, and why.
The audio is yours the moment you book. It downloads to your phone before you go in and then plays with no connection at all, which matters inside a church where there is very little signal. It is valid from the day before your date until seven days after it, so if the Basilica closes for a ceremony, or the queue is long, or you simply run out of time, you come back and it still works.

Bueno saberlo
This product does not have a meeting point and nobody is waiting for you anywhere. Booking systems require an address, so the address shown is our office address in Piazza della Citta Leonina. Do not go there: go straight to St Peter's Square with the audio already on your phone. Your access code arrives by email as soon as you book, and the audio downloads to your phone over any connection.
The first three stops are outside: Bernini's colonnade while you wait, the facade and the window the Pope speaks from, and the portico with its five doors. They are written to be listened to standing in the queue, so the wait is part of the route rather than time lost.

- Dress code: shoulders covered, trousers or skirts to the knee, no hats inside
- Dress code is enforced at the entrance: shoulders covered, and trousers or skirts that reach the knee. Hats must be removed inside the church. Visitors who do not meet the dress code are turned away at the security check, and this is the Basilica's rule, not ours.
- Everyone passes a security check before entering. Queues for the security check exist at all hours and are outside anyone's control.
- There is no cloakroom. Bring only a small bag or a small backpack.

- Bring your own earphones: headphones are not provided. Keep your phone on silent inside the church.
- Make sure your phone has battery and free storage: the audio is downloaded before you go in and then plays without a connection.
- The Basilica asks visitors not to take photographs, even for personal use.
- Children are welcome. The Basilica recommends a minimum age of 6, and visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- You may bring your own pushchair. Pushchairs are not available on site.
- Assistance animals are admitted with certification, to be shown on site. Other animals are not admitted.
- Step-free access with a ramp is available for visitors with disabilities and for pregnant women. We have not verified full wheelchair accessibility ourselves and we do not claim it.
- The Vatican Grottoes, the last stop of the audio, are not accessible from 18:00. If you go in late in the day, that stop may not be available to you.
- The Basilica may close, in part or entirely, for celebrations and ceremonies. When that happens it is decided by the Fabbrica di San Pietro and announced on the day.
